What a delight to have a professional behind the lens and melting into the party while capturing a special day in our lives. I’m a professional photographer, but I turn away business when people ask me to photograph their weddings–it’s such a specialized niche of photography requiring the right creative eye, technical photography background, people skills, and expensive backup cameras. Chris has what it take and more! He delighted us with the photos and moments he captured. I’d recommend him highly to anyone looking for a photographer with the instincts, the eye and the skills to put together wonderful photos of you special event. He had the patience of a saint. He is extremely creative and talented. He is super professional. His turn-around time is very quick. His photographs are simply the best. (The finished images get complimented constantly!)

Chris Schmauch photographed my only daughter’s wedding, therefore, I was really particular! He did a fantastic job capturing the special events and the “little things.” Guests at this wedding literally came from all over the country, many of whom Chris did not know and probably will never see again. However, he made all feel comfortable in front of the camera. He also took many behind the scenes shots and never was obtrusive in any way. In fact, with the exception of posed family shots, one would never have even known Chris was anyone but a welcome guest at the party. He was also very prompt in making the proofs available quickly after the event, categorizing them helpfully for the viewer. I am very happy to recommend Chris and GoodEye Photography.
Chris was our wedding photographer back in 2007. I got SO lucky landing this guy for our wedding pics! The results were amazing. Chris is an amazing photographer. His business is aptly named. He has that special talent of taking a candid moment and making it look both natural and portrait quality. We have several photos of our three children that were taken by Chris, and they are all spectacular. Each one perfectly captures the subject’s personality and emotion of the moment. He is so easy to be around. The kids don’t feel awkward and the resulting photographs are priceless. Having seen his work, we would never use anyone else.
We’ve looked at his restaurant and magazine work, and know that his abilities extend to those other arenas as well. We’ll use GoodEye for our own business marketing photos, as well as for any future family needs for a photographer.
I can never get a good photo of my kids, so I had Chris shoot my sons birthday party. He captured some incredible moments on film between my son and his brothers playing together. It’s funny because they see me coming with a camera and they run, but they never even noticed that Chris was photographing them! He was able to get the shots with no effort at all and the smiles that he captured are memories that we will treasure for a lifetime.
We were recently married in the beginning of august. Picking a photographer was a very hard decision for us. We wanted somebody with a edgy eye who could think quickly and more importantly control our unruly families. We interviewed two photographers before Chris and to be honest they seemed like everyone else. We were pleasantly surprised to meet Chris, he was on time and prepared to go with his brief presentation. After viewing his photos we know he was our guy.
Chris arrived the day of the wedding on time and ready to go. He took a ton of pictures before the wedding ceremony, and was piratically invisible. He was unobtrusive and we hardly even noticed him. For the formal pictures he took control, snapped a couple of shots and moved on, and allowed us to get back to the party quickly.
Our photos were on line very quickly and let me say that they were fantastic. We gave his web site address to all of our family and friends and the flood of phone calls began. My family is not the most photogenic of people but some how he made then look awesome. My wife and I are very pleased with Chris and his photos. We are eagerly awaiting our album.
I would recommend Chris to anyone, his work was exactly what we were looking for.

Chris embodies all those great qualities a professional photographer should have: his passion, dedication, talent, and positive attitude make everything easier for his clients and wedding planners like me. I had the honor to work with Chris at a wedding, and I was very impressed: he shot non-stop for two days, he was always there ready to capture special moments that will be treasured forever.
What can I say?? Chris took pictures at my brothers wedding a few years ago and the pictures he took of my daughter (she was the flowergirl) remain my favorite pictures of her ever taken.

I had Chris do the photography at my wedding. He came as just one person. He stayed out of the way. He shot over 1000 pictures! they were all good. The most difficult part was choosing which pictures to use! 3 years later I still flash my wedding album (which he designed all the layout for and everything) and people oooh and ahhhh.

What can I say to express what a tremendous and talented photographer Chris is? Not enough, I am not a writer by any means, but I will try.
-Chris is super professional, from his appearance to his demeanor, he makes you look good when he deals with your clients.
-Chris is the most talented general photographer I have worked with. Action shots, stills, lighting, crowds, individual, you name it.
-Chris made me look like a star by capturing the B-Day girl as she was getting out of the Limo without me even needing to tell him she was arriving! Cheers!
-Chris has top notch gear that I do not see with other photographers. Especially the remote light strobe that he uses really makes a big difference in the quality of pictures, at least at our venue.
-Chris’ prices are reasonable compared to some of the outlandish rates other persons are trying to charge for inferior work.
-Chris has a can do attitude. If I have a client that wants the works like; prints, multiple shoots, back drops, video, DVD, or what ever, he never says no and always puts together a team that is great and performs top. From my biggest accounts to my low budget clients, they all are so happy with the pictures. Let’s face it, you can have the best event in the world, but with out the best pictures to remember it, it is only a fleeting memory.

I was reading some of the reviews and trying to get inspired by what everybody has said about Chris, and I noticed a pattern… He is GREAT to work with!
Chris is an amazing Photographer, calm and stress free, thanks to him I was able to meet a deadline at work with some great food shots that he got in less then 24 hours.
Working with Chris is both fun and professional. I am glad that I found out about him. Now I know where to run to when I need great shots done in NO time!!!

John N.Full disclosure: I worked with Chris Schmauch for over 6 years. In that time, I watched in awe as his photography talents evolved into the professional he is today.
Here are his strengths:
Good communication. He carries a PDA with him everywhere and is very responsive.
Keen eye. He has the gift of seeing things that other people miss and he’s able to capture it in still images.
Invisibility. He’ll show up to the event, blend in and capture the moments and no one will know he’s there. He’s not an “in-your-face” photographer.
Stress-free. He somehow keeps his cool in stressful situations. When he shot my wedding, there were some tense moments and he was unphased. He’s also not one of those bossy photographers who orders people around and snaps.
Probably most important, he take beautiful, moving, astounding pictures.
Chris was wonderful to work with. He met every single expectation of ours and more! The shots he took at our wedding were AMAZING!!! He truly captured what we wanted from our wedding and it made us so happy!! His assistant Sam that also came with him for the day was just as awesome. The day of the wedding he arrived with his assitant Sam early and started scoping out the area. Looking for the best areas for any outdoor photos.

I’ve worked with Chris for over 3 years, sending him on restaurant/food shoots as well as editorial assignments for our publications. He is simply fantastic to work with! He is fast, pleasant, communicative and, most importantly, a superb photographer with an excellent eye. He manages to make anything look its best, and finds unique angles and details that make for interesting shots. I have not once yet been disappointed in his results.
To top that all off, he works easily on his own; I do not feel I need to be present on his assignments as not only can I be confident he will find the best shots possible, but he will be pleasant for our clients to work with.
He also has the best system for archiving/downloading shots, making it super easy to access and work with them.
